If you thought love confused humans, you haven’t taken a close enough look at dreams. The intangible surreal reality we sometimes – or maybe always – slip into while we sleep is one of science’s greatest unsolved mysteries. For 5,000 years, we’ve been trying to figure out what they mean, but by the 19th and 20th centuries, they were being used as tools for creativity. Artists like Salvador Dalí and René Magritte used their own nonsensical dreamscapes as sources of inspiration for some of their greatest works. Now, Ariana Grande is doing the same with her second launch for R.E.M. Beauty.
Grande previously told POPSUGAR that R.E.M. Beauty will launch with batched collections of products. In November, we saw eyeshadow palettes, lipstick, plumping glosses, and eyeliner; now, we’re getting a bit more. This past weekend, Grande officially announced Chapter 2: Goodnight n Go, which is launching March 21. Fans will recognise the chapter title as a fan-favorite track from Grande’s 2018 album, “Sweetener.” While the entire album is recognised for its dreamy aesthetic, this song, which is technically a remix of an Imogen Heap record, sounds like it could be the soundtrack to one of your nightly sojourns.
For Grande, it felt appropriate for this collection. “We are introducing some sort of skin prep and treatment products that feel really soothing and kind of restful,” she says, noting one launch in particular that’s built to soothe and relax, fitting into that dreamscape aesthetic all too well.
Although fans believed this second launch would reveal the foundation Grande accidentally teased during a media event last year, that’s still TBD. Instead, we’re getting an expansion of the eyeshadow palettes (this time, with some more colour), potted cream eyeshadows, a lash serum, more falsies, a cheek and lip tint, a translucent eye gloss, and two skin-prep products (an eye balm and a face mist). You officially have five days to prep your shopping cart; allow us to help. Ahead, everything you need to know about the Chapter 2: Goodnight n Go launch.

Midnight Shadows Eyeshadow Palette
The last round of eyeshadow palettes was nice, although even we’d admit they were similar to many others we’ve owned in the past. But this second launch involves some colours you might be missing from your routine. Two out of the three palettes in Chapter 2, Gogo Boots and Groovy Baby, feature a few bold pastels that you’d probably find on the lids of Twiggy and Elizabeth Taylor circa 1963. They might not be palettes you reach for every day, but that’s why you’ll love them.

Midnight Shadows Metallic Gel Eyeshadow
These metallic gel eyeshadows will bring out your inner child – they beg for a finger-paint technique. Housed inside tiny jars, these multidimensional formulas are intense and probably something you’ve never seen Grande wear IRL, but that might make you all the more excited to see how she will wear them in the future. We’re hoping for a “Wicked” cameo.
And, yes, the names – Affirmation (rosy lavender), Quality Time (red with pink shimmer), Communication (peach), Touch (icy mint), Gifts (Champagne gold) – are loosely inspired by the five love languages. If you ask Grande, she’ll say, like a true Cancer, her love language is touch and communication.

Eclipse Cheek & Lip Stick
The future of beauty looks a lot like the Eclipse Cheek & Lip Stick: a multipurpose product even novices can get on board with. All 10 shades are inspired by Grande’s long-time love for Broadway. “Brighter blushes remind me of being on stage,” she says. “[They] remind me of being in musical theatre growing up and playing Dorothy in ‘The Wizard of Oz.’ [Blush] feels nostalgic to me.”

Midnight Shadows Eyeshadow Gloss
Flexible, clear glosses had their moment a few years ago, but Grande is ready to bring the look, albeit a somewhat messy one, back. This lightweight formula can be applied to bare skin for that no-makeup glow or it can be used as a shadow topper when you want your makeup to look a little melted, but in a good way.

Flourishing Lash & Brow Boosting Serum
The Flourishing Lash & Brow Boosting Serum might be the most unexpected launch from this chapter, but it’s not one to be overlooked. Infused with tetrapeptide, a peptide from red clover flower extract, and biotin, this lash and brow serum helps to prevent breakage while fortifying follicles so your lashes and brows might actually grow in longer and thicker.

r.e.m. Dream Lashes
Falsies are a staple for Grande, so it’s no surprise she’s launching two more styles in Chapter 2: provocateur, a natural but glam lash, and daydreamin, a more volumised tapered lash.

Mist Thing Calming Face Mist
If you were in love with the Caudalie Beauty Elixir, then you’ll be intrigued by the Mist Thing Calming Face Mist. Although Grande intended for you to use it as a step in your makeup prep routine, we’re finding it just as useful when we need a burst of hydration in the middle of the day. The ultra-fine mist uses lavender and chamomile to calm your senses while it moisturises skin. “I’m a person who loves lavender,” she says. “I keep lavender essential oil in my purse at all times because it’s a calm trigger. It’s such a relaxing button push and this [face mist] . . . feels reminiscent of that for me.”

Full Night's Sleep Cooling Blurring Undereye Balm
The key to avoiding patchy concealer is to use a hydrating eye cream. Grande’s iteration is the Full Night’s Sleep Cooling Blurring Undereye Balm, a whipped balm that says it can cool and depuff the undereye area while prepping it for makeup. Unless you keep this pot in your fridge, you probably won’t feel an intense cooling sensation, but what you will find is a smooth undereye area that isn’t as prone to creasing.
