After a five-year hiatus, Nina Dobrev‘s bangs are back and better than ever. At the Los Angeles premiere of “The Out-Laws” on June 26, the actor stepped out with a full fringe, reviving the style she once wore following “The Vampire Diaries.” But this time, instead of pairing her blunt bangs with a shorter bob haircut, Dobrev kept her long brunette waves. “Bangin’ night for the Outlaws Premiere,” she wrote on Instagram, revealing the new look to her followers.
While Dobrev’s eyebrow-grazing bangs looked stunning on the red carpet, she once shared that they weren’t the easiest style to maintain. “It definitely is a lot more work,” she told People in a 2018 interview, saying that when she showered, her hair basically transformed into one big wave on top of her head. “So I would caution anyone considering [cutting] their bangs, because that whole get up and go and get ready does not exist anymore.”
Dobrev originally made the chop for her role in the film “Lucky Day,” telling Entertainment Tonight, “They wanted me to cut my hair and . . . I don’t know. I couldn’t have been more excited to do it.” Now it seems her bangs are no longer a part of her character, but rather a reflection of her own personal style. With the rest of her hair grown out, this version comes across slightly more modern, while still maintaining the nostalgia of her original cut. As hairstylist Justin Toves-Vincilione previously told POPSUGAR, these bangs are particularly good for contouring the face and adding more depth, even if they do require a bit more maintenance.
