Meghan Markle is taking sides in the hair part debate. If you need any more proof that the location of where you separate your hair makes all the difference, let us introduce into evidence: Markle’s new hairstyle. On Sept. 14, she attended a meeting with NATO representatives during the Invictus Games where she and her husband, Prince Harry, are hosting the sporting event. For the occasion, she opted for a side part and big, loose curls, as well as bronzy makeup. She finished the look with a neutral two-piece suit and minimal jewelry.
At first glance, you may not be able to put your finger on exactly what’s different about Markle’s look, as her hair color and cut appear to be the same. However, the star is a well-known champion of the middle part and has worn it for everything from her wedding to the first-look photos with her son, Prince Archie. Even prior to her life as a royal, she could often be found with the center-part style during her time as an actor on the hit show “Suits.” Moving her part a few inches to the side changes her look entirely.
The part debate is one that has been waging for what feels like forever, but over the years, few stars have opted to switch sides, literally. Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian, who have also been long-time members of the middle-part camp, were photographed in the polarizing look in 2022. And recently, TikTok was up in arms after Sofia Richie posted a lip-synching video wearing one too. Regardless of which side you’re on, let’s be real: the side part will never die. Take a closer look at Markle’s hair below.
