Martha Kalifatidis became a household name (if your household is social media) in 2019 when she starred on MAFS. However, the ex-MUA has since carved out a career for herself as a beauty influencer.
What’s made Martha Kalifatidis such an enduring presence on the beauty scene (despite weathering the odd controversy)? She knows her stuff. As an ex-MUA she provides her audience with real tips and tricks that beauty editors (like myself) note down. It helps that she’s refreshingly funny, and has goddess-level skin. Here’s a list of her most-loved products.
Beauty:
Kalifatidis is famous for her budget beauty recs. She’s a fan of Rimmel London, Lasting Finish Foundation with Hydration Boost ($9) and McCo Beauty’s, XtendLash Lengthening Tubular Mascara, ($24, but currently half price at Woolies).
Her lip contouring video went viral last year when she showed followers how to overline their lips with MAC Lip Pencil in “Hover” ($30) and a lighter lipstick — she used KVD Beauty, Vinyl Lip Cream in “Blossom” ($32). Her top tip? Buffing your excess foundation over the lips before going in with your colour to provide longevity, applying lip liner before lipstick, and “snatching” your pout with concealer and a sharp-angled brush – she used the Sigma, E06 Winged Liner Brush ($23).
She also gave a cheeky shout-out to Dr Naomi McCullum, at The Manse Clinic for giving her pout a boost nature — or makeup — simply can’t deliver. You can read my own review of The Manse Clinic’s RF Microneedling Facial here.
Skincare:
As an influencer, Kalifatidis jumps between brands on the reg, but one skincare range has cropped up regularly on her feed. Jeuneora Skincare is a small New Zealand range, which launched only last year. Jeuneora products are packaged in fully recyclable sugarcane plastic, and they work exclusively with GMP and MPI-certified suppliers.
Kalifatidis credits two products with keeping her oily skin in check. She layers Juenora’s AHA-packed Clarifying Booster, Overnight Resurfacing Peel ( $57) with the brand’s lipid-rich SuperSuper Face Oil ($108).
To her fans that were aghast at the idea of putting oil on their already oily mugs, she wrote: “Don’t freak out – face oils are great for oily skin, I promise, but it is important to use an oil specifically formulated for your skin type.”
Supersuper Face Oil combines skin-identical Squalane with super light weight Kakadu Plum and cold-pressed cacay oil. Kalifatidis said that the serum keeps pigmentation and acne in check, while the oil regulates sebum production. Based on her smooth, glowing complexion, we’ll take her word for it.
Body:
Like any good Sydney girl, Martha’s tanning game is on point. She’s a huge fan of Eco Tan products and uses their Face Tan Water, ($40) on no makeup days. She’s also has referred to the Eco Tan, Invisible Tan ($35) as her “forever fake tan” — she famously filmed her partner Michael Brunelli helping her apply the product to her back on a risqué insta story.
Honourable mention? Bangn Body, Illuminating Face & Body Firming Lotion ($56) pictured above.
Hair:
As a curly haired babe, Martha uses John Freida Frizz-Ease Dream Curls Defining Crème, which can be found for $9 at Chemist Warehouse and L’Oreal Paris, Elvive Extraordinary Oil Treatment ($12). She shared her cheapest hair hack on TikTok recently — and all you need is a silk scarf.
