Does Kylie Jenner have any beauty regrets? In the brand-new trailer for Hulu’s “The Kardashians,” it certainly appears that way. The teaser clip of season three covers everything from the status of Kim and Kourtney Kardashian’s relationship, Khloé Kardashian’s scare with melanoma, and Jenner’s thoughts on beauty standards.
“All of us just need to have a bigger conversation about the beauty standards that we’re setting,” Jenner can be seen saying to her sisters in one scene. She continues, “I don’t want my daughter to do the things I did,” before the video cuts to her sitting down with her friend Anastasia Karanikolaou and saying, “I wish I never touched anything to begin with.”
While we can’t speculate on exactly what Jenner is referring to in that statement, the star has previously revealed that she got lip filler in a 2015 “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” episode. “I have temporary lip fillers; it’s just an insecurity of mine and it’s what I wanted to do,” she said at the time. Years prior, there had been rumors that Jenner had her lips done, but nothing had been confirmed until the episode aired. “I want to admit to the lips, but people are so quick to judge me on everything,” she said.
In a 2017 episode of “The Life of Kylie,” she opened up that her initial motivation to get filler came from her first kiss. “I had really small lips. It was one of my first kisses, and a guy said ‘I didn’t think you were going to be such a good kisser because your lips are so small. I took that really hard. When a guy you like says that, it really affected me. I didn’t feel desirable or pretty.” Since then, she’s continued with the injections on and off.
The Kardashian-Jenners are often regarded as the standard for beauty, making Jenner’s comments all the more impactful. We’ll have to stay tuned for the rest of their conversation on season three, which airs on May 25. In the meantime, watch the trailer below.
