Kim Kardashian‘s initiation into the Marvel Cinematic Universe is complete. The Skkn by Kim founder dressed as Mystique from the X-Men franchise for Halloween this year and fully committed to channeling the shape-shifting mutant. Kardashian wore a blue custom-made latex catsuit that clung to her body so closely, it almost resembled body paint, and finished the look with matching face makeup, a red wig, and yellow contacts.
Kardashian turned to special-effects makeup artist KC Mussman of a Los Angeles-based company called Nocturnal Designz to help with her transformation. Mussman covered the reality star’s face with bright-blue makeup and applied slightly darker prosthetic bumps across her forehead and cheeks to mimic Mystique’s signature face scales. Mussman spoke highly of teaming up with Kardashian for the makeover, writing on Instagram, “Kim is a dream to work with! she was so collaborative and interested in the process, kind and wonderful to be around!”
Meanwhile, Chris Appleton covered up Kardashian’s bleach-blond hair with a fiery red wig featuring a prominent widow’s peak. He slicked the hair straight back and made the ends flip up at her shoulders. Once Kardashian finished her mutation, she offered fans multiple peeks at the full costume all over social media, posing among her skeleton- and mummy-themed Halloween decorations.
Kardashian isn’t the only celebrity who went all out with her beauty look for Halloween this year.
