Jordan Chiles Wears an Electric-Blue French Manicure at the NCAA Semifinals

All eyes were on Jordan Chiles and her colorful french manicure during her routine at the Division I Women’s Gymnastics Championship in Fort Worth, TX, on April 13. During the NCAA semifinals, Chiles casually flipped into first place on the uneven bars while rocking blue french-tip nails and rhinestone eye makeup. In addition to complementing her bedazzled leotard, the UCLA Bruin’s manicure was a sweet nod to her school.

Chiles’s one-inch square nails featured an electric-blue crocodile-print design on each tip. Holding up her NCAA trophy after scoring a perfect 10 on the uneven bars, Chiles showed off the manicure from all angles, even sharing a glimpse at the accent nail on her left ring finger. While it’s unclear what design Chiles chose for her accent nail, the black polish may represent a 23, marking the year and Chiles’s second appearance at the tournament.

In 2022, she made her NCAA debut in a meet against Iowa and Minnesota, where she competed in the uneven bars and the vault category. This year, in addition to taking home a trophy for her uneven bars routine, Chiles came in fourth for her floor exercise, putting her in second place all around. “Twice as nice. Congratulations to 2023 NCAA uneven bars and floor exercise champion,” the UCLA Gymnastics Instagram account captioned photos of Chiles at the meet. In the comments section, Chiles’s mom was overjoyed, writing, “I can’t stop tearing up. Proud mom is an understatement.”

While we’re used to seeing impressive nail art from gymnasts like Sunisa Lee and Simone Biles at the Olympics and other major events, we love to see how Chiles is wearing her team spirit on her fingertips.
