This Is How TikTok Users Are Making Perfume Last Longer on Their Skin

When you spritz on your fragrance in the morning, you hope that it will still be noticeably aromatic by the end of the day but chances are, it probably isn’t. To ensure you’re smelling of your signature scent all day long, it often requires a reapplication of said fragrance.

There are a few reasons why a scent might not linger on your skin, which includes the quality of the fragrance itself as well as your skin’s chemistry — if your skin is on the drier side, the perfume can find it hard to penetrate. In order to make fragrances last longer on the skin, some TikTok creators have started using a handy trick and we couldn’t not share it because it is genius and super simple.

TikTok users are popping a thin layer of Vaseline on their pulse points — including the inside of the wrists and elbows, the neck and even the earlobes — before spritzing perfume on these very same spots, Lifestyle Asia has reported.

The Vaseline works almost like a primer, creating a base for the fragrance to grip the skin and hang around for longer. So good! If you don’t have Vaseline at home, you can also use moisturiser instead and it’ll do the same job. It’s such a simple tip but it really makes a difference to the longevity of your fragrance.

According to MECCA, “the rich oils in hydrated, moisturised skin gives fragrance—whether it has an oil (parfum) or alcohol (toilette) base—something to cling to, making sure it won’t dry up and vanish into the nothingness.”

So, the moral of the story here is to make sure your skin is super hydrated and moisturised and it’ll help make your fragrances last for longer and putting moisturiser or Vaseline in targeted areas will make sure you’re smelling delicious all day long.
