There’s simply no look that Florence Pugh can’t pull off, but since debuting a buzz cut at the Met Gala in May, she’s really been leaning into her short hair era. Having dyed her crop from her signature blonde to pastel pink in July during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, she is now back to blonde and embracing the super-short look. So much so, that she’s been comparing herself to a spiky-haired viral celebrity.
On 3 Aug. the “Oppenheimer” star posted photos to her Instagram stories from the back of a car, wearing an embroidered jumper, cat eye sunglasses, and statement starfish earrings. She added text across the selfie, writing: “Sometimes when I get out the shower I look like Guy Fieri and I love it.” For those not in the know, Fieri is an American TV chef known for his larger-than-life character and his short, cropped, spiky, bleach blonde hair.
Pugh didn’t leave the resemblance at one selfie either. She added a video of herself, looking smug, as she added the caption: “Just saying.. could be the new mayor of flavour town” which is Fieri’s signature phrase. “Or should I say … ‘Flo’ver town”. Now we love a pun just as much as the next person, but Pugh is a keen cook herself, having launched a “Cooking with Flo” YouTube channel during the pandemic. So, ‘Flo’ver town could well become a reality if a foodie cropped hair collaboration comes up. We do have one question that remains unanswered though: was Pugh heading to a diner, drive-in, or dive?

Pugh’s hair has had many iterations. From a faux fringe at the BAFTAs in Feb. to a brunette pixie-mullet in Jan 2022, but it seems this cropped cut is the fuss-free style she’s having the most fun with. Either way, we can’t wait to see what more looks she has in store.
