Emma Corrin isn’t putting on airs in the latest issue of Vogue. While fashion covers typically showcase severe looks and solemn expressions, the magazine’s August 2022 issue spotlights Corrin’s approachable smile and sunny essence. “My grin really says it all,” the 26-year-old actor, who is perhaps most known for their portrayal of Princess Diana in “The Crown,” wrote on Instagram.
The cover shows Corrin reaching for a baseball cap, exposing their platinum, overgrown pixie. Also visible is Corrin’s armpit hair, which again offers a nice change from the perfectly plucked, ultra-manicured covers of yore. Their makeup is minimal, consisting of some foundation and nude lipstick if that. (Jimmy Paul was the hairstylist for the shoot, while Dick Page was the makeup artist.)
Corrin has continued to keep their hair short since their big chop ahead of award season in 2021. At the time, Corrin’s hairstylist Daniel Martin said they were inspired by nostalgic ’90s heartthrobs like Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt. “The past six months is all about boys,” Martin said.
Corrin, who came out as nonbinary last year, spoke to Vogue about their gender presentation and evolving identity. “In my mind, gender just isn’t something that feels fixed,” they said, “and I don’t know if it ever will be; there might always be some fluidity there for me.”
