8 of Our Editors Favourite Cream, Powder and Liquid Blush Products

Blush is one of the most important products you can have in your arsenal. Not only does it help impart colour and shape to your face but it is the most versatile makeup product that exists. In fact, if you have a good blush product, you really don’t need much else on your face.

Aside from using on your cheekbones, blush can also be used on eyelids as eyeshadow, on your lips as a lip stain (which works better with cream and liquid blushes versus powder products) and swiped across the tip of your nose to replicate a sunkissed flush without the actual sun. Coined “sunburn blush”, when applied correctly, it should simply amp up your summery look rather than look like you’ve been roasted in the sun.

If you’re in the market for a new blush, we’ve curated eight of the POPSUGAR Australia editors favourite blush products — from powder blushes to cream and liquid, these are the ones we repurchase again and again.

Angela, Commerical Content and Shopping Editor: Nudestix Nudies Bloom All Over Dewy Colour Blush in Sweet Peach Peony ($49)

“I have a couple of blushes that I love but I still find myself reaching for the Nudestix Nudies most days.

“It’s a great one-and-done product that also travels well in my makeup bag. I basically apply it all over my face (on my cheeks, eyes, lips, and nose) and love that it looks great with a sheer layer over SPF of built up over a full base.

“I have two shades on constant rotation: Sweet Peach Peony in summer and Body Language in the winter”.

Lyndsey, Entertainment EditorHourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat ($57)

“I love it as it combines blush and highlighter so it’s time-saving, gives a beautiful, healthy glow, and works great on eyelids too to make eyes look a little brighter and awake. Plus, the way it looks in the compact is just to die for! It’s like a little work of art”.

Amanda, Publisher: Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Dou Dou ($68)

“It’s a creamy stick multi-purpose product, which makes it low fuss and easy to use. You only need to use your fingers to apply — and because of its creamy texture, it can be easily built up depending on how much colour you want.

“I sweep it over my eyelids, cheeks, lips, and bridge of my nose (to try my best to look like I’ve just had a hoilday, 365 days of the year)”.

Stephanie, Contributor: NARS Blush in Orgasm ($43)

“Nars Orgasm is THE blush. It has a great formula, applies smoothly, blends well, has great pigment but is still buildable, and the coral colour with gold shimmer is just eternally flattering”.

MECCA

Alana, Gaming Producer: MECCA MAX Off Duty Blush Stick ($18)

“I love how creamy it is and the colour really pops. It’s quite bright, which I like because you only need to use a little bit to look amazing — but it’s easy to build on if you want your look to really stand out.

“I have really pale skin which sometimes makes it hard to find products that look good, and this blush makes me look flushed and not like I’m packing it on”.

MECCA

Valentina, Managing Editor: Stila Convertible Colour in Peony ($36)

“This is a cream blush and super easy to apply with your fingers. The finish is perfect and not shimmery or glittery, it just gives a nice natural-looking flush. You can use it on the lips too and it doesn’t fade throughout the day. One application in the morning is all you need”.

MECCA

Alexandra, Beauty + Wellness Editor: Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in Joy ($34) + Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Blush in Soft Rose ($49)

A recent discovery I’m loving is the Rare Beauty Liquid Blush, which has a weightless formula that is buildable on the skin. This product has a doe foot applicator and is super easy to dot on your cheeks and use your fingers to blend it in. This shade dries with a dewy finish and imparts a subtle glow to the cheeks, which I love.

The other blush I reach for regularly and used throughout the cooler months is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Blush. The shade Soft Rose is the perfect dusty pink colour and the cream formula melts into the skin for a natural-looking finish. The blush also helps to blur the skin and is buildable, so allows you to achieve the final look you’re after.
