Fringe Inspo In Case You’re Wanting to Follow In Margot Robbie’s Footsteps
As soon as Margot Robbie stepped on the red carpet at the 2021 Oscars, people were abuzz about the Promising Young Woman producer’s new fringe. Robbie has officially said goodbye to her signature bob haircut (which has graced many a red carpet in recent years) and is now rocking long locks and relaxed bangs that sit just above her eyes.
Our thoughts immediately turned to the state of our own bangs and we were instantly hit with an urge to take Robbie’s picture to the hairdresser to get a messy fringe of our own. In case you’re also in the same boat, here is some chic fringe inspiration for your next hair appointment — including curtain bangs, full fringes and microbangs.
Jennifer Lopez
Curtain bangs continue to be a firm favourite among celebrities, including Jennifer Lopez who has rocked the look several times over the years. Shaggy curtain bangs won’t be going anywhere anytime soon, so if you’re thinking about making the chop, this is your sign.
Duckie Thot
A blunt fringe gives you a lived-in, relaxed energy, as seen here on the gorgeous Duckie Thot. While this style of fringe *does* require a bit of maintenance thanks to the long length, the slight ’70s vibes are totally worth the upkeep.
Dakota Johnson
Dakota Johnson has dabbled in a number of fringe styles over the years but this particular look is a favourite of ours. It’s not as big of a commitment as blunt bangs, but still gives you the bold look of a front fringe.
Microbangs
Microbangs can be divisive but we are huge fans of this trend. Halle Berry debuted her own A-line microbob complete with microbangs at the 2021 Oscars and we can’t get enough of this bold look. The upside to microbangs? You can wait longer between haircuts.
Elizabeth Olsen
For something a touch more subtle, the humble side fringe is the way to go. Don’t listen to what Gen Z are saying about side parts — embrace the side part, side fringe look à la Elizabeth Olsen.
