After waiting patiently for many, many months, the golden day is finally here: Byredo Makeup is heading Down Under. While the makeup range has been available in the States since October last year, we haven’t been able to get our hands on it. Even worse, there was no word as to whether this might happen.
But, thanks to the angels at MECCA, you’ll be able to get your mitts on Byredo Makeup in-stores and online from July this year. Much like the game-changing approach to fragrance, Byredo took a creative approach to the creation of the makeup line and it doesn’t disappoint.
The brainchild of Byredo founder and creative director, Ben Gorham and makeup artist, Isamaya Ffrench, this line knows no gender or identity and is built on the principle of multipurpose products that invite the wearer to choose the way they use them. The Colour Stick, for example, can be used across one’s eyes, lips or cheeks and comes in a number of exciting and fun shades.
“I’ve always wanted to redefine the approach to creating a makeup collection. I don’t want to tell people how to wear the cosmetics, just to inspire them. I wanted to create a sense of freedom in the way we approach using makeup but also in the way we communicate the products. Byredo can be anything – that is what we are trying to establish,” said Ffrench.
“I am very happy about the possibilities of self-expression contained within the collection. It’s about how you combine it, however little or however much,” Gorham said.
Formulated with clean, natural ingredients, the makeup quality and performance is next-level while the packaging is also downright drool-worthy. Every part of Byredo Makeup has been designed with a specific aesthetic in mind.
The Mascara, for example, is housed in an eye-catching curved red container, or as Byredo describes it: “Abstract, totemic and ergonomic, the Byredo Mascara is as much treasured object as beauty tool”.
Byredo Makeup will be available from MECCA in July 2021.
