Billie Piper’s Space Bun Hairstyle Is a Total ’90s Throwback at the BAFTA TV Awards

Billie Piper went back to her ’90s roots for the 2023 BAFTA TV Awards. The actor walked the red carpet wearing a royal blue sequin jumpsuit that undoubtedly commanded attention, but it was her intricate hairstyle that gave us a flashback to those late ’90s, early ’00s school days.

For the occasion, of which Piper is nominated in the best leading actress category for her performance in Sky Atlantic’s “I Hate Suzie Too”, her brunette hair was given a middle parting and kept sleek. The real work of art was around her two space buns. With some strands plaited and others straightened, her hair was knotted to give the appearance of bows in her hair, before two sections were pulled to the front. To complete her look, she added dramatic black eyeliner in a feline flick, with matte pale pink lips; another ’90s favourite.

It’s likely Piper worked with stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray on her red carpet look, as she has been pulling a number of outfits for the star recently. The shimmering blue sequins covered her entire jumpsuit – and we mean entire jumpsuit. From the asymmetric neckline, the sleeves were connected to gloves as the pantaleggings were connected to her heels.
