Australian Fashion Week has released its schedule of shows, events and talks for 2024, and from the looks of the line-up, it promises to be a creative, thought-provoking week. The week, sponsored by Pandora this year, will run from Monday, May 13 to Friday, May 17.

β€œThe 2024 schedule features designer runway shows, curated conversations, consumer activations and special events taking place at Carriageworks in Sydney and online at australianfashionweek.com, the digital destination for Australian Fashion Week,” says Natalie Xenita, Vice President-Managing Director of IMG Fashion Events and Properties, Asia-Pacific.

Designer runway shows and presentations include Karla Spetic, P.E. Nation and Romance Was Born, as well as emerging designers, part of the Next Gen presented by DHL program, Amy Lawrence, Emily Watson, House of Campbell and Potirakis. While most of the shows are invite-only, some, including Acler, Carla Zampatti and David Jones Indigenous Fashion Projects Runway, are ticketed, with fashion lovers able to buy passes to them online.

The Talks, presented by Glenfiddich, will host panels like β€˜Go West: The Rise of Western Sydney Culture’, with designer Chris Potirakis and musician Esky Escandor, β€˜Made for Music’ with designer Alix Higgins and stylist Jana Bartolo and β€˜New and Next: New Directions in Australian Fashion’, with Le Bon Marche consultant Nathalie Constanty and Moda Operandi Buyer Kelsey Lyle.

AFW will also include a Sustainability Symposium, presented by City of Sydney, featuring Delta Global founder Robert Lockyer, and a Women With Drive event, presented by Porsche, will see female thought leaders in Australian fashion exchange ideas in an intimate conversation.

β€œFashion is an important part of our creative industries,” says NSW Minister for the Arts, Jobs and Tourism, John Graham.

β€œ[…] We want fashion to be a bigger part of our state’s cultural story. Australian Fashion Week provides our best designers with a platform to connect with global audiences, telling uniquely Australian and First Nations stories to the world.”

Graham says Australian Fashion isn’t only an opportunity to showcase creative talent and brilliance, but also underscores the importance of high-end retail tourism in the NSW economy. The full AFW ’24 schedule is below and more details at the Australian Fashion Week official site.
