Fans of the reality series Below Deck listen up because you are sure to be excited by this news.

The Bravo produced franchise is set to add more spinoffs — adding to the original plus Below Deck: Sailing Yacht and Below Deck: Mediterranean — with one of them being made right here in Australia. Given our country is absolutely one of the most beautiful in the world, we can’t wait to see its beautiful tropical landscapes shown off in the new series.

According to the So Dramatic podcast, the series will be filmed on the boat recently renamed Thalassa, which is currently docked in Airlie Beach, Queensland.

According to Deadline, an additional spinoff will also be made around Iceland.

Rod Aissa, EVP Unscripted, Documentary & Lifestyle, told the publication that he considers Below Deck a “perfect” reality series.

“You have people coming in for a week, so there’s always new characters that come in, in terms of the guests,” he said.

“You have a crew that is getting to know each other, and relationships are evolving over the course of the season. You have these drop-dead gorgeous backdrops — you just want to be there, and you want to be on the boat, and you want it to be served by these great people that are running the boat.”

In case you’re not familiar with the franchise, Below Deck follows the lives of crew members who cater to the rich and famous aboard luxury yachts.

The original series premiered in 2013 and just aired its eighth season. Below Deck: Mediterranean consists of five seasons so far and Below Deck: Sailing Yacht produced its second season in Croatia in August/September of 2020.

Australian Alli Dore, who stars on Saling Yacht, chatted to POPSUGAR Australia in March, revealing that she and her fellow crewmates both worked and partied extremely hard during the season.

“We were all like this anomaly, where we could just wake up the next morning and were just like, ‘bang’, onto it,” the 32-year-old said.

“Like starting our day, no complaining. We just got on with it. But it was like the kiss of death because you can just go so wild.”

The Below Deck franchise is available to watch on hayu and Foxtel.
