15 of the Best Tatcha Skin-Care Products to Try, According to Our Editors

Personally, I’m delighted that I no longer have FOMO watching fellow skin care obsessives swoon over Tatcha‘s luxurious collection, or need to use my products sparingly now they are available locally.
Tatcha skin care was founded by Vicky Tsai in 2009. After having the opportunity to leave her corporate job and travel to Japan, Tsai learned about a culture of harmony and beauty that inspired the philosophy behind Tatcha. Through her research with scientists, geishas, and cultural advisers, she created modern formulations of timeless Japanese skin-care rituals that use effective but gentle ingredients, like Hadasei-3. An ingredient that’s unique to Tatcha, Hadasei-3 consists of a complex of double-fermented rice and contains natural moisturising proteins to support healthy barrier function. It also contains green tea, which helps to neutralise oxidative free radicals and visibly reduce signs of premature ageing. Finally, the algae are packed with skin-plumping polysaccharides and have been used for centuries to nurture the skin due to their moisture-retaining properties.
While pushing boundaries and challenging innovation in skin care, Tatcha remains true to its roots and traditions all the while catering to the demands of modern life. The brand’s price range is from mid-high end to luxury.

Tatcha The Rice Wash
New for 2023, Tatcha The Rice Wash ($67) is a cleanser that gently removes makeup and leaves skin feeling silky smooth. The Japanese rice powder is the secret ingredient to glowing skin. If you’re looking for a deeper cleanse, add the The Deep Cleanse ($65) to your weekly routine.
Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Vitamin C Mask
Up your face mask game with the Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Vitamin C Mask ($101). This hyrdrating mask is packed full of two types of vitamin c which visibly brightens the skin.
Tatcha The Liquid Silk Canvas
The Liquid Silk Canvas ($90) is a primer that helps makeup last way longer. The silk extracts hydrate the skin and created a smooth canvas for makeup to glide on. It also helps to brighten your complexion.
Tatcha The Silk Canvas
If you prefer a balm to liquid, then The Silk Canvas ($90) is ideal. With anti-pollution natural active ingredients, it helps to prime your skin and form a barrier to protect it from environmental stressors.
Tatcha The Camellia Cleansing Oil
The Camellia Cleansing Oil ($83) was the first Tatcha product I fell in love with and actually my first cleansing oil. This moisturising 2-in-1 makeup remover and cleanser melts away even the most stubborn makeup, leaving the skin moisturised and radiant.
Tatcha The Rice Polish
Tatcha The Rice Polish ($113) is the second step of The Ritual. This water-activated exfoliant derived from Japanese rice powder and papaya enzymes transforms into a creamy foam to reveal perfectly polished, glass-like skin that looks radiant.
Tatcha The Essence
Remember that special ingredient I mentioned, Hadasei-3? Well Tatcha The Essence ($175) is 100 percent made up of that blend of Japanese superfoods rice, green tea, and algae, which resurfaces, softens, and plumps the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and boosting the efficacy of the skin-care regimens.
Tatcha The Silk Cream
Tatcha The Silk Cream ($208) is a weightless gel-cream that contains hydrating silk and Hadasei-3, which encourage firmer and brighter-looking skin. It can be used daily – morning and night – because the luxurious blend provides all-day hydration.
Tatcha The Kissu Lip Mask
The decadent Tatcha The Kissu Lip Mask ($54) leaves the lip completely enveloped in long-term moisture, but manages to do so without ever feeling gloopy – thanks to superhydrators squalane, camellia oil, and Japanese-peach extract. It also works brilliantly on cuticles in a pinch!
Tatcha The Silk Powder
Tatcha’s award-winning The Silk Powder ($86) is one of the brand’s bestsellers – and for good reason. Suitable for all skin types, this multiuse setting powder helps makeup last longer, blurs pores, and protects the skin against blue light and pollution, all whilst giving a translucent and soft-radiant finish.
Tatcha Aburatorigami Beauty Papers
We love a multitasking product – not only do Tatcha Aburatorigami Beauty Papers ($33) remove excess oil from the skin without disturbing makeup or stripping the skin of essential moisture but with the addition of 23-karat gold flakes, they also impart glow and add a subtle shimmer to the skin.
Tatcha The Texture Tonic
Tatcha The Texture Tonic ($98) is a liquid exfoliating treatment that is formulated with fruit AHAs, niacinamide, and Japanese mugwort to clarify blemish prone skin and to even skin tone and texture to reveal smooth and calmer looking skin.
Tatcha The Clarifying Clay Mask
Tatcha The Clarifying Clay Mask ($116) isn’t just any ordinary clay mask. This clarifying, warming mask opens pores, before Japanese volcanic ash and konjac purify and gently exfoliate the skin.
Tatcha The Dewy Serum
Tatcha The Dewy Serum ($148) is suitable for all skin types and delivers gentle resurfacing whilst plumping and hydrating the skin, sealing in the moisture with Hadasei-3. With key ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, lactic acid, and squalane, your skin will be smoother, plumper, and dewier. Sounds dreamy to me!
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist ($83) is a gorgeous, refreshing mist that delivers an instant boost of hydration to the skin. I love to use this product to top up throughout the day. It feels silky on the skin, but also moisturises and adds a glow under or over makeup, or even on bare skin!
