This Australian Designer Uses Flowers to Dye Her Silk Hair Accessories and We’re Obsessed
Silk hair accessories are one trend that isn’t going anywhere. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing but silk is extremely gentle on your hair so you don’t have to deal with tugging or catching on your locks. There are a number of silk hair accessories on the market but one brand we’re particularly obsessed with is designer Eloïse Panetta.
Based in Sydney, Eloïse Panetta is a luxury womenswear label that produces bespoke clothing and silk accessories. In fact, Panetta, the person, uses Australian botanicals to dye her pieces including eucalyptus leaves and rose petals.
“Each piece of silk goes through a beautiful botanical dyeing process,” reads the Eloïse Panetta website. “Australian botanicals such as eucalyptus leaves, flower petals and berries are wrapped in the silk and then steamed, creating soft, subtle colours and unique patterns.”
The range of accessories, which includes ribbons, scrunchies, headbands and scarves, are all made from 100 percent silk and thanks to the natural dyeing process, are also 100 percent chemical-free and are sustainably made in Sydney. Here are a few of our favourite accessories:
Eloïse Panetta Large Silk Scrunchie
Each Large Silk Scrunchie ($50) is handmade and dyed and as such, will look slightly different each time. This scrunchie is extremely gentle on your hair and won’t tangle or snag.
Eloïse Panetta Silk Ribbon
Measuring roughly 105cm in length and 4cm in width, the Silk Ribbon ($60) is the perfect accessory for ponytails and buns, or simply tied at the front with your hair out. There are a number of shades to choose from but we can’t go past the blush tones of this one.
Eloïse Panetta Silk Headband
Keep your hair out of your face with a delicate Silk Headband ($90) by Eloïse Panetta. Silk works to maintain healthy looking hair as it restores moisture and prevents breakage, so opting for a silk headband is extra kind for your locks.
