The Best Memes About the Starfield Gameplay Reveal
We finally saw the Starfield gameplay reveal during the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, and unsurprisingly, fans went a little bit nuts after seeing the space RPG in action.
Bethesda released almost 15 minutes of gameplay footage, showing us fully explorable planets, character creation screens with Fallout-style traits, futuristic cities, base building, combat with guns and in ships, crafting systems and — perhaps most exciting, according to the reactions online — the ability to design your own spaceship.

It looks like spaceships in Starfield will be made up of modular parts that you can swap out at will. Each part has its own stats and different manufacturers have their own look and feel, so you can customise the way your ship looks and performs by changing these parts. You can even change the colours of each part to paint your ship however you please.
We also learned that Starfield will have more than 1000 planets to land on and explore — news that has players divided. Some people are worried this will mean the game is clogged with boring, procedurally-generated planets like No Man’s Sky was at launch. Others are excited by the thought of visiting unexplored planets for nothing else than the thrill of discovery.
The official gameplay reveal proved that we’ve been right to call Starfield “Skyrim in space”. It also has serious Fallout vibes, which makes sense as they all come from Bethesda. Hopefully Starfield combines the best parts of these games and adds some polish to the typical Bethesda experience.
The game was first announced in 2018 with a cryptic trailer showing a space station in orbit around a mysterious planet. A teaser released in 2021 showed us a pilot walking through a massive ship and preparing for takeoff. The gameplay reveal confirmed that Starfield still doesn’t have a release date, but it will be coming out in early 2023 and arriving on Xbox Game Pass straight away.
