Ciara stole the show at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit launch party on May 19 – in more ways than one. A cover model for the magazine’s 2022 swim issue, the “Level Up” singer attended the event in a cutout LaQuan Smith minidress, and though the ab-flaunting outfit certainly brought the wow factor, we couldn’t help but focus on her bedazzled nails.
Every camera flash on the red carpet called attention to the star’s rhinestone-encrusted french manicure, which nearly outshone her massive diamond engagement ring and wedding band. Ciara’s almond-shaped nails were painted with a light-pink base colour and off-white deep french tips that were lined with tiny silver rhinestones along the demarcation of polish hues. The sparkly embellishments added a little 3D glitz and perfectly matched the crystal-covered cowgirl outfit she changed into to perform on stage later in the night.
Rhinestone French manicures have been gaining steam since New York Fashion Week earlier this year, with celebrities from Lizzo to Jennifer Lopez rocking variations of the trend. With Ciara now on board, it’s only a matter of time before this nail-art trend floods your Instagram explore page. Take a closer look at Ciara’s blinged-out nails ahead.
Get the Look
Want to get the look? There are a few ways to go about this, the easiest being ready-made press on nails. We love Très She’s Instant Acrylics. Their Princess Cutz nails in “High Class” ($40) are perfect for this look. Or, if you need something you can type in, the Diamante Nude Press-On Set ($85) by Mannequin Hands.
Smith & Cult, "Shattered Souls"
Alternately, opt for intense glitter polishes. Smith & Cult have a great range of densely packed metallics, like “Shattered Souls,” ($32) that will make your nails look Machine-Gun-Kelly level bedazzled, for a fraction of the time (or price).
