Issa Rae and Nicole Kidman Team Up For Women-Driven Anthology Series

Based on the 2018 book of short stories by Cecelia Ahem, “Roar” is a women-led anthology series that offers insight into what it means to be a woman today. According to the show’s official logline, the eight-episode project will feature “a unique blend of magical realism, familiar domestic and professional scenarios, and futuristic worlds” to mirror the lives of ordinary women in “accssible yet surprising ways.”

The show’s cast is stacked! “Roar” stars Nicole Kidman (who also serves as executive producer), Cynthia Erivo, Issa Rae, Merritt Wever, Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, Meera Syal, Fivel Stewart, and Kara Hayward.

“Roar” is set to premiere with all eight episodes on Apple TV+ on April 15.
