Billie Eilish’s Growing Tattoo Collection Makes 1 Thing Clear: She Loves Mythical Creatures
- Billie Eilish has two known tattoos: a dragon leg tattoo and fairy hand tattoo.
- Recently she’s given fans a peek at her two designs.
- Her latest tattoo was debuted at a movie premiere.
Billie Eilish hasn’t always been open about her tattoo collection. For the longest time, she didn’t show off her first tattoo and even went as far as saying fans would never see it, but that all changed with her June 2021 British Vogue cover. When the photos of the upcoming print issue were released in May, Eilish’s previously secret dragon tattoo could be seen slithering up her thigh.
Since then, Eilish has added one confirmed new tattoo to her collection (although, given her ability to keep a secret, who knows how many designs she really has). It’s a small fairy tattoo on her hand that she debuted at the world premiere of No Time To Die in London on Sept. 28. Both the dragon and fairy design have left us wondering: what do they mean? While Eilish is still tight-lipped about the significance behind the body art, fans have speculated on the meaning of each and devised their own theories.
Ahead, get a closer look at Eilish’s two known tattoos and potential meanings.
Billie Eilish's Dragon Leg Tattoo
On the cover of June 2021’s British Vogue, Eilish’s large leg tattoo was visible for the first time. It’s hard to tell exactly what the black-ink design is, but fans believe it to be a dragon climbing from the top of her thigh to her stomach. The artist of the ink is unknown.
Though Eilish has never spoken about the meaning behind the tattoo, dragons often symbolize power, wisdom, and strength.
Billie Eilish's Fairy Hand Tattoo
On Sept. 28, at the World Premiere of No Time To Die in London, a movie of which Eilish wrote the theme song, eagle-eyed fans spotted a new tattoo on her hand. The design appears to be of two fairies huddled close together. The all-black design is by celebrity-loved tattooist Dragon Ink of Bang Bang NYC.
Eilish frequently uses the fairy emoji on social media, which fans believe could have been a hint to her plans for a permanent design. It’s clear that the singer has a love for mythical creatures.
