Shawn Johnson and Andrew East Celebrate Their Baby Announcement at the ESPYs

Shawn Johnson and Andrew East have a lot to celebrate. On July 12, the two athletes arrived at the ESPY Awards just hours after announcing they’re expecting their third baby. Johnson, a gold medal–winning Olympic gymnast, held her baby bump on the red carpet in a strapless turquoise gown, while East, a former NFL player, gently dipped her backwards on the red carpet. The two kissed and celebrated the exciting news together, packing on the PDA in the process.

The couple currently share a 2-year-old son named Jett and a 3-year-old daughter named Drew. They broke the news about baby number three via Instagram, with Johnson writing, “Swipe for a surprise,” with a photo of her hand over her baby bump. East also shared a video on his page with a compilation of all the times Johnson had previously told him she was pregnant. “Are you pregnant?” he asked in the most recent clip, capturing his shocked reaction when Johnson responded affirmatively. “Here we go again,” he captioned the post.

The two confirmed on their “Couple Things With Shawn and Andrew” podcast that they’re going to wait to find out the sex of their baby. But until then, Johnson did share that she should be due around December, detailing how long they had been trying for a third baby prior to their ESPYs-adjacent announcement. “Here’s to all the nausea, cravings, back pain, and other fun things we go through that are totally worth it to ultimately hold a little baby in our arms,” she wrote on the couple’s Family Made website.
