The newest game pack for The Sims 4 lets your Sims get married — and, more importantly, lets you plan your dream wedding. The My Wedding Stories game pack was revealed in a wild trailer that gives Netflix rom-coms a run for their money, and we simply must recap it.
It begins with a man down on one knee proposing to his girlfriend, who happily says yes and asks her best friend to be the “Sim of Honour”. What follows is an adorable montage of the two women going dress shopping and settling on a white jumpsuit that I would 100 percent wear in real life.
The bride and groom taste wedding cakes and bicker over flower arrangements, all while the Said of Honour stands by her best friend’s side. Apparently not even Sims are immune to the stress of planning a wedding, but we haven’t even gotten to the big twist: as the bride walks down the aisle, she tells her best friend she’s in love with her.
The rest of the trailer follows their relationship, including their very own wedding and honeymoon. It’s a wild ride from start to finish, and almost illegally cute. Plus, it reveals some of the new items and locations that are being added in the My Wedding Stories game pack, like Tartosa, the “most romantic world in all of The Sims 4.”
You’ll also be able to select the perfect ring in Create-A-Sim, plan your engagement party, bachelor and bachelorette parties, find your dream wedding dress and put a personal spin on your cake with a huge range of flavours and decorations. Of course, you’ll also be able to send your Sim down the aisle on the big day, say “I do”, seal the deal with a kiss and party all night long.
There are also options for cultural traditions, like the tea ceremony before a Chinese wedding or the reds and henna typically worn by Hindu brides. The release date for The Sims 4: My Wedding Stories is February 17 and it will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, PC and Mac.
