Every Change in Elden Ring’s “Easy Mode” Mod
There are more than 500 mods for Elden Ring available to download. Some of these are useful mods that let you pause the game or access important items early in the story. Others are designed to make the game look better by making the colours more vibrant, adding new armours or giving Torrent a makeover. But one of the most popular mods is “Easy Mode for Elden Ring,” which rebalances the game to make it significantly easier for anyone who’s struggling.
The Easy Mode for Elden Ring mod, created by Nexus Mods user odashikonbu, makes a lot of small changes in the game, like how much damage you deal and receive, how effective flasks are and how quickly you collect runes. There are three versions of the mod and each offers a different level of difficulty. To help you decide which version to download, we’ve collected all the changes that the Elden Ring easy mode mod makes in one helpful place.
Easy Mode for Elden Ring Mod “Damage Edit Only” Version
This version of the Elden Ring easy mode mod is the most accurate to the game — that is, it’s the most difficult version of the mod. It still drastically reduces the amount of damage you take from enemies and increases the amount of damage you deal; it also makes your flasks much more efficient, which is a huge help early in the game when you can only carry four flasks in total. Here’s the full list of changes in the “Damage Edit Only” version:
- Reduces incoming damage by 50%
- Increases player attack damage by 25%
- Doubles the player hit radius
- Doubles the amount of health and focus restored by Flask of Crimson Tears and Flask of Cerulean Tears.
Easy Mode for Elden Ring Mod “Damage Tweak + 10x Rune” Version
The second version of the mod makes the game a lot more forgiving. It increases the number of runes you collect for defeating enemies and makes it much easier to upgrade your weapons (which is the best way to get stronger, rather than levelling up your player stats). Here’s the full list of changes:
- Reduces incoming damage by 50%
- Increases player attack damage by 25%
- Doubles the player hit radius
- Doubles the amount of health and focus restored by Flask of Crimson Tears and Flask of Cerulean Tears
- Players earn 10 times the amount of runes
- Only 1 Smithing Stone is required to upgrade your weapon.
Easy Mode for Elden Ring Mod “Personal Edit” Version
The final version of the mod makes the game even easier and removes a lot of the early game limitations. Most notably, it makes casting spells and summoning spirits free, which essentially means you don’t need to use Cerulean Tear flasks and you can increase the amount of healing flasks you can carry. It also gets rid of weight limits, so you can use any weapon and armour you like without worrying about it slowing you down. Here’s the full list of changes in the most drastic version of the Elden Ring easy mode mod:
- Reduces incoming damage by 50%
- Increases player attack damage by 25%
- Doubles the player hit radius
- Doubles the amount of health and focus restored by Flask of Crimson Tears and Flask of Cerulean Tears
- Players earn 10 times the amount of runes
- Only 1 Smithing Stone is required to upgrade your weapon
- Removes weapon, armour and accessory weight values
- Removes the FP cost of magic and Spirit Ash summons
- Increases weapon scaling by status
- Adds +10 to every starting stat
- Item Discovery is always 500
- No materials are required for crafting.
How to Install Elden Ring Easy Mode Mod:
The catch is that the mod only works for Elden Ring on PC. It’s also only available when you’re playing Offline, which means you won’t see messages from other players and can’t summon other players to help you in fights. You can still summon NPCs to help you, though.
- Download the mod and extract the files
- In your Elden Ring install location, backup regulation.bin (by default, your game will be installed to C:\Steam\steamapps\common\ELDEN RING\Game)
- Disable EasyAntiCheat (there’s another mod that does this for you)
- Move the regulation.bin file included in the mod download files into your Elden Ring install location above.
To play in Online mode again or remove the mod, just delete the new regulation.bin file and restore the one you backed up in step 2.
