Our Current Favourite Sustainable Fashion Brands and Where to Shop Them
It’s one thing to look chic, but it’s another thing entirely for your outfit to have minimal impact on the environment.
With so many incredible brands — both right here in Australia and the rest of the world — making trailblazing moves in the realms of sustainability, it seems silly not to rethink how we shop.
Not only are sustainable clothes infinitely more beautiful (because who doesn’t love a piece of clothing with a wholesome story), but they’re better in quality and better for the environment.
So, in a world of increasingly conscious consumers, we’ve put together our favourite sustainable brands right now and where to shop them.
Friends with Frank
Friends with Frank is an Australian brand that was born in 2012 out of the belief that the key to a great wardrobe is having good quality staples that last the test of time. We couldn’t agree more, and there’s never been a more relevant time for a sustainable ethos than right now.
With their Spring/Summer 2021 collection dropping today, October 5, we’re pretty excited to get online and shop some of FWF’s new looks.
Friends with Frank pieces are classic and timeless, and so are their materials. Where possible, they use Australian wool, cashmere, duck down, by-product fur and natural fibres, for their warmth and how they wear, and their biodegradable attributes.

Everlane
Everlane are big on making pieces that you’ll wear for a lifetime. They’re high in quality, the designs are effortless and what’s more — Everlane are transparent with their manufacturing process.
In the way of their sustainability plan, Everlane have publicly committed to two broad initiatives: eliminating all virgin plastic from their supply chain and moving all of their cotton production to organic.
Not only does this make their clothes more durable, comfortable and better in quality, this also makes them more sustainable. They also have openly good relationships with their factories and their owners.
According to the Everlane website, each factory is given a compliance audit to evaluate factors like fair wages, reasonable hours, and environment. Our goal? A score of 90 or above for every factory. You can read more here.
As for the clothes, they’re all about simplicity, style and inclusivity and have really great denim for all body shapes and sizes.

LÉ BUNS
LÉ BUNS is an Australian eco-friendly underwear brand that focuses on comfort and sustainability, using luxe organic cotton in all its designs.
With a huge focus on empowering womens’ bodies and ultimate comfort while still feeling sexy, it’s no wonder we love this brand so much. It’s safe to say that sustainability dedication of LÉ BUNS makes us love it that much more.
Not only are their products made with sustainable organic cotton and a range of natural dyes for their pastel colours, LÉ BUNS have an ongoing partnership with i=Changed, which allows $1 from every purchase to go to a charity of your choice. Charities include: Greening Australia, The Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation and Women’s Community Shelters.

They make each piece to order, as a conscious decision that helps them to minimise our footprint on the environment and create an unmatched connection with their customers.

Bendon Lingerie
Bendon have been around for a while, but just released their first ever sustainable collection and we’re thrilled. It just goes to show; you don’t have to sacrifice sexy lingerie to shop sustainably… any more.
Conscious Simplicity is name Bendon’s first recycled range of lingerie crafted from certified recycled materials, including recycled nylon and fishing nets. This is a great example of a brand that is building its sustainable ranges, improving material sourcing and production processes, as well as improving factory conditions while promoting women’s health and wellbeing.
With more styles still to come, the new Conscious Simplicity range is set to be comfortable for all body types, as well as a turning over of a new leaf for Bendon, as they move forward with a sustainable ethos.
