Spider-Man: No Way Home is a Wild Ride and Angourie Rice Can’t Wait for Fans to Watch it
The most anticipated movie of the year has finally landed in theatres across the globe, and despite being an arachnophobe, there is no way I’m missing out on Spider-Man: No Way Home. Ever since Marvel dropped the first trailer, fans have theorised and speculated as to what they can expect to happen in the superhero flick. And don’t worry, there are no spoilers here so you can read on — oh unless you haven’t watched the previous Spider-Man films, then maybe click off now.
To recap, Spider-Man: Far From Home left the friendly neighbourhood hero completely exposed. While exploring Europe with his girlfriend MJ (Zendaya), Peter Parker (Tom Holland) reluctantly agrees to help Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) uncover the mystery of several attacks across the continent. Long story short, the teenager ended the movie in a bit of a mess and since its release in 2019, fans have been eagerly waiting to find out what happens next.
“From what you see in the trailer, it looks like it’s going to deliver everything that it promises. Fun, emotion, action, everything I think fans have come to expect from such an amazing franchise,” said Angourie Rice, who plays brainy Betty Brant in the film to POPSUGAR Australia.
But despite so many people wanting to find out exactly what goes on in the movie, there is no other studio that knows how to keep a secret like Marvel. Everything is heavily guarded, with the actors having to follow a set of rules when speaking about the film to avoid dropping spoilers.
“There are so many Marvel fans out there and so many of my friends are Marvel fans as well, and I’m like ‘well, I can’t tell you anything!’ And they hope that by being my friend they’ll get some insider knowledge, but it’s tricky, you got to stay tight-lipped about it,” said Rice.
While there’s not much that can be said about the movie itself, we do know Spider-Man: No Way Home includes some major players from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Dr Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and, take this with a grain of salt because it’s just a rumour at this point, but Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield who played Spider-Man in the previous instalments.
Sony Pictures
The two appearing in the movie is currently the most talked-about theory despite Garfield denying any involvement in the film. Alongside a star-studded cast, no Spider-Man movie would be complete without its stunning CGI work, bringing all of the action to life on the big screen.
“I mean that’s the most magical part of the process for me. Especially for something like Spider-Man, which has so much visual intrigue and action. I remember for the second one, doing Far From Home, they built a lot of amazing sets but most of Venice was built in a studio. So that’s part of the magic, seeing all the work that goes on after they call cut and after you go home,” said Rice.

And as for Betty’s short-lived romance with Ned (Jacob Batalon) in Far From Home, Angourie had one thing to say to those hoping to see some more sparks between them in the latest instalment: “You’ll have to watch to find out!”
Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently showing in HOYTS theatres around the country.
