SAS Australia Just Dropped a 2022 Sneak Peek Promo and it Looks Lit (Literally)

It was one of the biggest reality shows of 2021, as we watched celebs get pushed to breaking point and beyond on SAS Australia by Chief Instructor Ant Middleton and the crew.

Only John Steffensen, Mark Philippoussis and Sam Burgess made it to the end of the course, with Sam Burgess taking the win.

At the time, Burgess said that it was “a bit unbelievable” to have passed selection, and described it as “a once in a lifetime experience”.

SAS Australia will return in 2022, with 17 new recruits signing up to be put through a series of gruelling physical and psychological challenges taken from the real SAS selection process.

Chief Instructor Ant Middleton will be in charge of the celeb recruits, along with DS (Directing Staff) Ollie Ollerton. They’ll be joined by SAS newcomers, retired US Navy SEAL Clint Emerson and former British Special Forces soldier Dean Stott, and we’re sure they’re not going to go any easier on the recruits just because they’re new to the show!

The all-star recruits who’ll attempt to pass selection in 2022 include: TV personality Anna Heinrich, 34, AFL legend Barry Hall, 44, former NRL star Darius Boyd, 34, professional boxer Ebanie Bridges, 35, Rugby 7s Olympian Ellia Green, 28, Olympian swimmer Geoff Huegill, 42, Survivor and Bachelor alum Locky Gilbert, 32, singer and actor Melissa Tkautz, 47, Olympic diver Melissa Wu, 29, professional boxer Michael Zerafa, 29, NRLW player Millie Boyle, 23, actor Orpheus Pledger, 28, comedian Paul Fenech, 51, motorsports presenter Riana Crehan, 34, convicted drug dealer Richard Buttrose, 49, model Simone Holtznagel, 28, and AFL commentator Wayne Carey, 50.

Channel 7 has dropped the first-look promo for the upcoming season, and it looks just as brutal as previous seasons.

“What doesn’t kill you, makes you,” says Middleton in the trailer.

Middleton goes on to promise that the celeb recruits will face “something different” in the next season, adding, “their lives will change”.

“The scorching heat, the raging waters, the untamed wilderness, and two new elite commanders,” he says.

Middleton then reveals that retired US Navy SEAL Clint Emerson “served 20 years… in the unit that took out Osama Bin Laden”.

“We have a saying in Texas,” Emerson says. “‘Don’t mess with Texas’, meaning nothing will get in our way, and that’s the same attitude these recruits better have.”

Meanwhile, Dean Stott served in the military for 16 years, alongside Prince Harry, and says that he was “trusted to protect his life”.

Middleton says that the team is about to set the recruits’ “world on fire”, as the trailer shows them quite literally setting the recruits on fire.

SAS Australia will return to Channel 7 in 2022.
