Sarah Snook and Her Husband, Dave Lawson, Were Friends For Years Before Falling in Love
While Sarah Snook has been in many critically acclaimed films and TV series over the years like “Pieces of a Woman” and “Black Mirror,” her role in “Succession” has been especially well-received. In the show, Snook plays Shiv Roy – the only daughter in the Roy family. Her character is incredibly smart, strong, and savvy, making her the ultimate boss.
On March 20, the “Succession” cast got together in New York City to celebrate the show’s season four premiere. During the event, the Australian actor surprised fans by revealing that she and her husband, Dave Lawson, are expecting their first child together. “It’s exciting!” Snook told Entertainment Tonight while touching her baby bump. “I feel great.”
The star added that it won’t be “too much longer” before her baby arrives, since she’s 32 weeks into her pregnancy. It marked one of the few times Snook has opened up about her personal life. She seems to value her privacy, because she hasn’t talked much about Lawson or their growing family in interviews. In case you’re itching to know more details, however, here’s what we do know about Snook’s husband.
Sarah Snook's Husband, Dave Lawson
Dave Lawson is an Australian comedian and actor. In an October 2021 interview with Vogue Australia, Snook revealed that she and Lawson were friends for years before their relationship blossomed into something more. “At the beginning of the pandemic last year, I got locked down in Melbourne with one of my best mates and we fell in love,” she said. “We’ve been friends since 2014, lived together, traveled together, always excited to see each other, but totally platonic. We’ve just never been single at the same time.”
Although Snook said there’s been “so much heartache and sadness in the world,” she’s grateful that she wasn’t alone during the experience. “On a micro personal level, I’ve been very fortunate,” she said. “There’s a really lovely grace in that without the pandemic, we might not have ended up together so quickly.”
After falling in love, Snook said she proposed to Lawson on Halloween in 2020. The couple tied the knot just months later in February 2021 and exchanged their vows in the backyard of Snook’s home in Brooklyn. The wedding was intimate, with the only attendees being Snook’s housemates and her “Succession” costar Ashley Zukerman, who acted as a witness.
The pair made their red carpet debut as a couple at the season four premiere of “Succession,” which is also where they announced their baby news. The baby will be Snook’s first child, however, according to People, it will be Lawson’s second. In a September 2021 interview with the Funny in Failure podcast, Lawson revealed he has a son from a previous relationship.
