Meghan Markle Surprised a Group of Teens During Amsterdam Nonprofit Visit
Project Fearless is celebrating its three-year anniversary by looking back at its biggest milestones, and one of them includes a recent visit from Meghan Markle. On Monday, it was revealed that the Duchess of Sussex paid a special visit to the nonprofit organisation – which serves girls and nonbinary kids in Amsterdam – earlier this year. Markle participated as a guest coach in Project Fearless’s first entrepreneurship course.
“Safe, supportive spaces like Project Fearless allow girls the opportunity to express themselves, build each other up, gain resilience, and tackle new challenges,” Markle said in a statement shared by the nonprofit. In the photos, Markle is seen interacting with the teens as she gives them advice on their business pitches and joins them in a group exercise on facing fears.
“I can’t believe she shared her fears with me. For the rest of my life, if I’m ever scared or anyone makes me feel little, I’m gonna think, ‘Whatever, you got this. Meghan said so!'” Meesha, 12, shared in a statement. Meanwhile, 15-year-old Myrtle said the duchess encouraged her to follow her dream of becoming a Project Fearless teen mentor, adding, “I have learnt about how important it is to be true to who you are and have confidence in that. To be fearless and to teach others that as well.”
Project Fearless was founded by Merida Miller in 2019. It “aims to equip girls and non-binary kids (ages 9-14) with the tools to succeed in any aspect of their lives through after school courses ranging from climate science to skateboarding, kick-boxing to entrepreneurship and more.” According to Miller, Markle’s “visit was a brilliant way to celebrate the impact Project Fearless has made over the last three years, introducing the girls to an accessible role model who is making a difference and using her voice.”
