“We Clicked Instantly”: MAFS’ Jake Edwards Opens Up About New Girlfriend Sophie Guidolin
Married at First Sight star Jake Edwards was blindsided during the final reunion of the hit series when it came out that his TV wife Beck Zemeneck had rekindled her romance with her ex-boyfriend while she was tending to her ill dog during the final weeks of the experiment.
While he seemed visibly upset during the show, it was a blessing in disguise as the Outside the Locker Room founder has found “love” with his new girlfriend, Sophie Guidolin — and they’ve just gone Insta official.
During the season, Guidolin accidentally spoiled the outcome by posting photos of Edwards on her Insta stories, however, now, Edwards has not only confirmed the romance, but it seems like he’s found The One.
Speaking to 9 Entertainment, Edwards revealed that the pair met online and “clicked instantly” (no pun intended!)
“It was amazing. I flew up to where she lives and we spent a week together and haven’t been away from each other ever since,” he told the outlet.
“This was love at first sight and it’s been a great experience,” he said before adding: “She knows this a little bit but she came into my life at the perfect time. She saved me in a lot of ways. She’s a remarkable mum, she’s an incredible woman, and she’s perfect.”
The health and fitness influencer has two sons from a previous relationship, Kai and Ryder, as well as twin girls, Evie and Aria, and to make their couple debut, she posted a stunning photo of her and Edwards under a rainbow on Instagram.
“Behind every storm is a rainbow,” she captioned the photo which was taken by photographer Beth McQueen.
As for Zemeck, Edwards and his former TV leading lady have not spoken since the experiment ended, even though she has tried to reach out.
“To this day I haven’t spoken to Beck, I didn’t feel there was any need for me to talk to her or communicate with her,” Edwards told Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam and Browny in April.
“She’s reached out a couple of times, once the show aired and a couple of days after the reunion but there is no need for me to communicate with her. I hope she finds all she’s after. I wish her all the best.”
As for Guidolin, Edwards says he’s “got a great partner”.
“If she didn’t come into my life when she did, I honestly don’t think I’d know where I would be,” he said. “She’s just been extremely supportive and someone that I’m very grateful for, I think it starts there and as of today we can be normal, be public and get on that journey together.”
