Married At First Sight’s Bec Shares Moment With Bryce That Led to Production Being Shut Down
It’s no secret that Married at First Sight’s Rebecca Zemeck and Bryce Ruthven have been at odds all season — and on March 30, things escalated when Ruthven approached Bec during the relationship retreat and kissed her on the cheek leaving her in tears.
In an interview with 2Day FM’s The Morning Crew with Hughesy, Ed and Erin, Zemeck admitted she felt “violated” by her co-star, saying the incident resulted in a production shutdown the following day.
“I felt violated. It was one of those moments you’d bring the contract up and see what your rights are because I didn’t sign up for this,” she said. “I didn’t sign up for even having conversations with Bryce anymore.”
“We shut production down from this the next day. It was mentally mind-draining for me.”
Zemeck then revealed she felt “harassed” and said watching it back was particularly hard.
“It’s harassment. I think you learn to keep your hands to yourself when you’re in your first year of school… It was really hard for me to watch last night,” she said.
In another interview with KIISFM’s Kyle and Jackie O on Wednesday, Zemeck also said that she had asked producers if she could get Ruthven removed from the experiment.
During the episode, Ruthven called Zemeck the “queen” of season eight before kissing her on the cheek.
“Don’t… F–k! Yuck! That’s disgusting!” she said, while the other cast members told Ruthven to respect her boundaries. He insisted it was “a kiss to say sorry” before saying her tears were “fake”.
