The movie, which is written and directed by Pitch Perfect’s Kay Cannon, is a modern take on the classic fairytale.
The story starts off with Ella (Cabello) dreaming of starting her own dress business, all while living with her evil stepmother (Idina Menzel) and stepsisters.
On the other end, Prince Robert (Nicholas Galitzine) is searching for a wife.
You probably know what happens next, but with Billy Porter playing the Fabulous Godmother, you already know Ella is going to steal the Prince’s heart.
But while Ella has the Prince’s heart, does he have hers? Ella, who is determined to open her own dress shop isn’t sure about being a princess.
“I don’t want a life stuck waving from a royal box any more than a life confined to a basement,” she says.
It wouldn’t be a Camila Cabello movie if it wasn’t a musical, with Janet Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation” making a cameo in the trailer.
Camila sang a number of originals for the movie, making her first acting gig a memorable one.
Other notable stars include Minnie Driver, James Corden and Pierce Brosnan.
