Married at First Sight was always going to start with a bang, so it’s no wonder that Bryce Ruthven, 31, and Melissa Rawson, 31 were the first to tie the knot.
Ruthven is a footy bloke who is never shy to speak his mind and is described as an alpha-type male. According to his official bio from Channel 9, the radio announcer from the ACT “can come across as cocky, opinionated, and outspoken” — and it doesn’t bother him one bit.
Before appearing on the series, Ruthven was in a relationship with a woman named Lana for five years and even got engaged, however, after their relationship broke down just six months before the show, he decided to try his luck on Married at First Sight.
Rawson’s story couldn’t be more opposite as the 31-year-old workplace trainer from VIC has never been on a date. She has tried “to put herself out there” on the dating apps, however has had no luck and is embarrassed by the fact that she has never dated anyone.
Will this couple be a match-made in heaven? We’ll just have to wait and see.
