How to Apply For Big Brother Australia 2022

Do you think you have what it takes to be the last housemate standing on Big Brother Australia and take home the big bucks? Well, it’s time to get those cameras rolling, because casting for the 2022 series is now open!
We had a look at the casting call-out so you’ll know exactly what the application process looks like. But first things first, do you qualify? Here are some quick terms and conditions: You’ve gotta be 18 or older by May 31, 2021, and you need to be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
As for availabilities, you’ll need one or two days free between August 15-22; that’s when the producers will be doing auditions. If you’re one of the lucky soon-to-be housemates, then you’ll also need to be free for 10-12 weeks for the shoot, so hopefully you’ve got some annual leave days up your sleeve! At this stage, the series is scheduled to film between October and December 2021 but obviously that could change at any moment, given the general state of the world.
There are two different parts to the application process: an online application and a video. The online application should only take about 15-20 minutes and will be split into a bunch of different sections and questions.
Of course, anyone familiar with reality TV will tell you that the video is what’ll count the most. That’s where you’ll show the producers your sparkling personality, all the things that would make you a great housemate, what would make you great television, and what would make Australia love (or hate, or love to hate!) you.
This is the section that you can have fun with and get really creative with. If there’s ever been a time to do THE MOST, this is it, basically.
You’ve got until 5pm AEST on August 2 to get your application in, which seems like ages but will surely fly by.
As for what happens once your application has been submitted, well, it’s basically a waiting game. There are thousands of people who apply for the show every year, so producers don’t call everyone, but if you do hear from them, it’ll be the casting department calling to have a chat and get to know you.
From there, hopefully you’ll be cast as Australia’s new housemate and will go on to win hearts and challenges and — perhaps most importantly — prize money. Love that for you!
