We’re all about girl power over here at POPSUGAR Australia, so we’ve rounded up a list of the shows you should put on your “to watch” list this winter. Here’s the best of the best!

Bump

We’re lowkey obsessed with Bump and we think you should be too. A 10-part drama series starring Nathalie Morris and the one and only Claudia Karvan (who also exec produced the show), Bump is the story of an “I didn’t know I was pregnant” surprise baby, and the fallout from that revelation.

Clarice

If you’ve ever seen Silence of the Lambs, you’ll know that FBI Agent Clarice Starling is simply not to be messed with. Starring Aussie actress Rebecca Breeds, Clarice picks up in 1993, one year on from where Silence of the Lambs leaves us. This series dives into Clarice’s mind as we explore her psyche and the childhood traumas that have led her to chase killers and madmen.

Domina

Into period dramas? This one’s for you! This eight-episode series follows Livia — played by Kasia Smutniak — as she grows from a young, helpless girl to become the most powerful Empress in Rome. Set in the wake of Julius Caesar’s death, Livia’s goal is to avenge her father and regain power for her sons. It also stars Isabella Rossellini, iconic, and Game of Thrones‘ Liam Cunningham.

Eden

You know what’s better than a show about women? A show about women, from the creator of Skins, that’s been written by an all-female creative team. As Shania Twain would say, let’s go girls! Eden, quite frankly, is iconic. Eight episodes long, this Stan Originals mystery follows Scout (played by Sophie Wilde) who’s like “what’s all this then” when she gets home from a year in NYC to find that her best friend Hedwig (played by The Dry’s BeBe Bettencourt) is… different. Changed. And then she goes missing, and we follow Scout as she tries to piece it all together.

Girls5eva

If you’re looking for something that requires less emotional output, something that you can just throw on and enjoy, Girls5eva is the one for you. Exec produced by Tina Fey, the comedy follows a 90s girl group who get a second shot at the spotlight when a Gen Z rapper samples their solitary hit. Starring Busy Phillips, Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Paula Pell, this one is pop perfection. Fey also makes a cameo as Dolly Parton that is just **chef’s kiss.**

The Republic Of Sarah

If you’re looking for a girlie on a mission, look no further than The Republic of Sarah. Sarah Cooper (played by Stella Baker) is a high school teacher who wants to turn her town, Greylock, into its own country. Why? New Hampshire is backing Lydon Industries, a mining company, in its plans to basically suck the life (and minerals) out of the town, even if it means destroying the town and leaving its residents homeless.

Run The World

If you want fashion, fun, and friendship, Run the World is all yours. In the same vein as Sex and the City and Gossip Girl, Run the World is about a group of four best friends from Harlem who rely on one another through everything as they work toward success.

This Way Up

Looking for British humour? Here, we have a smart and snappy comedy with heart starring and created by Aisling Bea. In the six-part series, Bea plays Aine, who’s trying to get her life together after a “teeny little nervous breakdown”. Honestly? Mood. Anyway, we follow Aine as she tackles all the obstacles life throws her way in her pursuit of happiness.

We Are Lady Parts

This is lowkey the rock version of Girls5Eva, and we love that for us. We Are Lady Parts follows punk band, Lady Parts, as they try to make it in the music industry. Written, created and directed by Nida Manzoor, this show is girl power personified and exactly the type of diversity we need more of on our screens.
