From Trolley Pusher to Superstar — Meet the “Australian Idol” Sensation Isaac McCallum
On “Australian Idol”, the judges sometimes have a favourite contestant. This is most certainly the case in 2024, as both Marcia Hines and Amy Shark are huge fans of the up-and-coming artist Isaac McCallum.
After Isaac’s rugged audition of Lewis Capaldi’s “Bruises”, Marcia gave his vocals the complement of a lifetime. Additionally, she stated that this singer should receive a Golden Ticket.
“I think you’re one of the best vocalists I’ve heard for a long time,” Marica said.
Meanwhile, during the Top 21, Amy gave Isaac a Fast Pass for crooning James Arthur’s “Say You Won’t Let Go” with gusto and panache. This Fast Pass prevented Isaac from being eliminated the next round of this competition.
Right before Amy gave Isaac a Fast Pass, she said, “I’ve had a real soft spot for you, from the second we met. Because you’re an underdog, and I know exactly what that feels like.”
As it stands, Isaac is in the Top 10 and could be 2024’s “Australian Idol”. Here’s everything that we know about this singer.
Why Isaac McCallum Wants to Win “Australian Idol” 2024
Isaac McCallum is an artist who has always been hustling for more. Before signing up for “Australian Idol”, Isaac was a shopping trolley pusher in Ulladulla, NSW. As it stands, Isaac wants to leave these days behind him. In a statement, he said that he’s more than ready to become a full-time artist.
“I want to get out of that car park,” Isaac said. “I want to stop pushing trolleys. ‘Australian Idol’ has given me the chance to live my dream of being an artist and showing the country my gift.”
However, despite wanting to leave his job as a trolley pusher, Isaac loves his home of Ulladulla. In an interview, he said that he couldn’t win “Australian Idol” if they never believed in him.
“The community has always had my back,” Isaac said. “Without them, I really wouldn’t be where I am today and have the confidence I have. It’s all because of them.”
If you want to watch Isaac on “Australian Idol”, the season 2024 is playing on Channel 7 and 7 Plus. New episodes will air at 7pm on Sundays and at 7.30pm Mondays through Wednesdays. Miss an episode? Catch up on 7 Plus.
