Teresa Giudice's Wedding Hair Required 1,500 Bobby Pins
“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice tied the knot with businessman Luis Ruelas on Aug. 6, and people haven’t stopped talking about her extravagant wedding look since. Her longtime hairstylist Lucia Casazza created a dramatic half updo with long curls for the occasion, accessorizing with a custom crystal tiara. “As we know, my girl Teresa is the queen of Jersey, so we needed hair that was fit for a queen,” Casazza, who’s worked with Giudice since season 3 of “RHONJ,” said on SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live.”
“You know what we stand for in Jersey – you go big or you go home.”
According to Casazza, Giudice wanted her hair to be “over the top,” and the stylist certainly delivered. The wedding hairstyle consisted of seven bundles of keratin fusion extensions, more than 1,500 bobby pins, a pack of clips, and three stitched mesh inserts to add “mass volume,” she shared with Cohen. It reportedly took almost two hours for Giudice’s makeup artist Priscilla DiStasio to remove the pins alone.
Casazza also estimated the hairstyle to cost almost $14,000, including over $10,000 worth of custom hair extensions and about $3,500 for the elaborate styling. “You know what we stand for in Jersey – you go big or you go home,” she said of the look.
As one of the many wedding guests, fellow “Housewives” star Dorinda Medley joined in on their chat, describing Giudice’s hair as a Rapunzel moment. “It was a lot of hair, but she can pull it off,” she said. The TV personality’s hairdo has of course sparked a stream of memes since Saturday’s festivities, with many joking about people hiding in Giudice’s hair and guessing the weight of her hair alone. Cohen even joked on his radio show that he would like the hair pieces saved for BravoCon.
