Famous Faces: All of the Celebrity Beauty Brands That Have Launched in 2021
Another day, another celebrity beauty brand launch. The rise of the celebrity created cosmetics line isn’t new but in recent years, the number of celebs putting their names to products has steadily risen.
Just in 2021, there has been a plethora of celebrity beauty brands that have launched as well as a number of well-known people who have filed trademarks to create their own beauty brands.
For some of the best brands from celeb faces to launch this year, keep reading.
Know Beauty
Founded by Vanessa Hudgens and Madison Beer, Know Beauty is a skincare brand that is doing things differently. The duo has teamed up with LA-based dermatologist Dr Karen Kagha M.D., to create a personalised skincare quiz and DNA test that allows products to be matched to your specific needs. The brand launched on June 22 with 17 products including the hemp-infused Calming Day Moisturiser (US $26), which is one of Beer’s favourite products, while Hudgens loves the Bubbling Oxygen Mask (US $30).
JLo Beauty
Launched on January 1, 2020, JLo Beauty is the brainchild of the one and only Jennifer Lopez. According to Lopez, the goal of this brand was to create a line of skincare products that were both luxurious but accessible at the same time. “Our tagline is, ‘Beauty has no expiration date’ because to me, ageless isn’t just a mindset — you can feel youthful at any age and feel great, not just great for 50,” said Lopez on the JLo Beauty website. Shop skincare essentials including fan favourite That Blockbuster Hydrating Cream (US $58).
About Face
Created by singer-songwriter Halsey, makeup line About Face launched in January 2021 and was “inspired by and for our diverse and artistic community”. According to the About Face website, this brand creates “makeup made with integrity and intention, for all stages of life”. The makeup range includes a plethora of products including lip glosses, liner pencils, eyeshadow sticks and highlighter sticks.
Clean Beauty Collaborative
Partnering with Amyris, a biotechnology company, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is due to launch the Clean Beauty Collaborative later this year. Amyris is making waves in the clean beauty world thanks to its development of its shark-friendly squalene, which is used in its brand Biossance. According to The Zoe Report, the Clean Beauty Collaborative will live under Huntington-Whiteley’s brand Rose Inc.
2021 has also seen a number of celebrities file trademarks to start their own cosmetics brands, with Kris Jenner, Harry Styles, Cardi B and Ariana Grande doing that this year. While we don’t have official launch dates for any of these beauty lines, we can’t wait to see more from these famous faces.
