Brad Pitt Has Mastered the Art of the Low Messy Bun
There were statement-making hairstyles aplenty at this year’s Oscars – Halle Berry’s new microbob, Margot Robbie’s bangs, Chloé Zhao’s pigtail braids – but I personally went to bed dreaming about Brad Pitt’s man bun after the show wrapped on Sunday night. The seasoned actor rolled up to Union Station in Los Angeles with his sun-kissed hair pulled back into a petite, nape-grazing bundle, thus providing me with summer hair inspo and simultaneously reigniting my nearly defunct man-bun obsession. It’s like he knew he had to one-up himself following that emotional speech he gave after winning his first acting Oscar last year or something.
We first caught a glimpse at Pitt’s internet-breaking look when he took the stage to present Minari‘s Yuh-Jung Youn with the best-supporting actress award. He watched on from side stage as she delivered an impossibly endearing acceptance speech that began with her shooting her shot with Pitt. I mean, can you blame her?! It’s the power of the Brad Bun™. We were then graced with a closer look at the actor’s sexy hairstyle when he escorted Youn backstage, revealing that his bun was quite small and perfectly tousled. It’s unclear whether he enlisted help from a professional hairstylist or simply threw his hair into the low bun himself, but I sincerely hope it’s the latter.
Of course, I couldn’t settle for swooning Pitt’s Oscars hairstyle solely via front-facing red carpet photos. I needed to fully admire that beloved bun from every darn angle, so I rewatched his mid-show appearance and captured every necessary screenshot, as one does. Please join me in admiring Pitt’s glorious bun moment ahead, and catch me trying to re-create the effortless Brad Bun™ this summer.

Alright, I couldn’t resist including some red carpet snaps first, even though they don’t fully display the bun in question. I have a feeling you won’t mind though, reader.
Get a load of that lift at his roots. His hair doesn’t look one bit matted down or greasy like mine usually does when I try to pull off a casual low bun. Bravo, Pitt – bravo. And those piecey, face-framing strands. He knows what he’s doing.
